Make Music Day


June 21st is Make Music Day. On this day, citizens and residents are encouraged to make music with others in public spaces. There are plenty of ways you can engage if you don't own any musical instruments. There are a ton of resources and even Make Music stores in Missouri that you can check out! Let's keep the love of music going even during summer break!

Welcome parents! This first post is designated to offer some helpful tips on practicing the recorder at home. Your student should have brought their new recorder and book home this week. Inside the book, you will find content about the recorder, how to hold it, proper instrument etiquette and cleaning, fingering charts for playing notes, as well as all of the songs we will learn this year. At the back of the book, they have a practice sheet to help them stay on track. As we start out on recorder, we will be practicing technique and respecting the instruments. Please check in with your child to ensure they are treating their recorder and book with proper care.
